AUSTIN, TX — Texas Book Festival organizers announced on Wednesday that best-selling author John Grisham will be at this year's gathering to promote his new novel.

Grisham will discuss his new novel, "The Guardians," at the event. His talk is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Oct. 26 at the First Baptist Church, 901 Trinity St. Tickets to see him are available via the Texas Book Festival website. Each Book Ticket includes one pre-signed copy of the book and admits one person. Book tickets are required to attend this event.

Grisham is the author of 33 novels, including The Pelican Brief, A Time to Kill, and many other #1 bestsellers. Several of his works have been converted into movies, including legal thriller The Firm that starred Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman and Jeanne Tripplehorn. He is also the author of one work of nonfiction, a collection of stories, and six novels for young readers.

Grisham is back to form with another legal thriller, The Guardians, which his publisher said "...delivers some of his most inventive twists and turns yet." Set in the small north Florida town of Seabrook, the plot revolves around a young black man who is framed framed for the murder of his lawyer and sentenced to life in prison. The protagonist then writes a letter to Guardian Ministries, and the intrigue unfolds.

Like The Firm, Grisham's latest book centers on familiar territory in the American South. The fictitious Guardian Ministries of his story handles only a few innocence cases at a time, and lawyer/minister Cullen Post is its only investigator. Post travels throughout the South in fighting wrongful convictions and taking cases no one else will touch, but gets far more than anticipated. For one thing, powerful and ruthless people murdered one lawyer 22 years ago. They will kill another without a second thought.
