Christmas Trees Delivered to State Capitol Building
The three trees for the house, senate and governor, were brought to the capitol by horse drawn carriage.

Less than a week after Thanksgiving, Austin is already in full-swing Christmas mode.
On a day when plenty of people’s lunch will consist of leftover turkey sandwiches, three Christmas trees were delivered to the State Capitol, reported KXAN. The trees will stand in the house, senate and governor’s office, and were brought in by a horse drawn carriage Monday morning.
But the Chritmas decorations have only just begun.

Starting December 4, a 20-foot tree will be on display in the house chamber, decorated with ornaments from each district in the Texas House.
And what would a tree delivery be without some sort of lighting ceremony?

The annual Holiday Sing-Along & Downtown Stroll will be held Saturday, Dec. 5. The free event will begin at 6 p.m. with singing on the Capitol steps. Then, at 7 p.m., the tree will be lit and the Downtown stroll begins. The night will feature live music, a movie and even a farmers market.
