Jimmy Fallon Brings 'The Tonight Show' To UT-Austin
Ahead of the taping of his show from the Bass Concert Hall on Thursday, television host could be seen causing comedic mayhem on campus.

AUSTIN, TX — Austin will soon be in the national spotlight following a live taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon at the University of Texas at Austin campus on Thursday.
The taping is scheduled to take place at the Bass Concert Hall on the university campus. UT-Austin students entered into a lottery this fall to be among the 2,000-member audience. Yet even before the taping, Fallon sightings have been reported — including reports of him wandering around the campus donning a burnt orange Longhorns shirt and white cowboy hat while flashing the omnipresent "hook 'em" hand gesture.
Taping is slated to start at 5 p.m. on Thursday for a show that will feature UT alum Matthew McConaughey, the actor, and Chip and Joann Gaines, a couple from Waco, Texas, featured on the HGTV show "Fixer Upper." The musical guest will be Gucci Mane.

“Get ready, Texas," Fallon wrote on Twitter. "The Tonight Show’s coming to town. I can’t wait.” As the hour of taping neared, Fallon posted more on Twitter — including footage of him jumping into the centerpiece fountain on campus in full formal suit. "When at UT-Austin, do as the Longhorns do," Fallon wrote before taking a backwards dive in the aquatic feature and prancing inside it to the delight of students.

As part of the Austin show, Fallon is seen walking along local landmarks while singing the song "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" made famous by the singer John Denver. He enters the iconic bar Hole in the Wall before hitting 6th Street, the Darrel K. Royal Stadium and finally entering the Bass Concert Hall.
