Vigil For Austin Woman Killed In Houston Scheduled
The service for Heidi Broussard is scheduled at Garrison Park on Monday, Dec. 23, at 6:30 p.m. after the woman was found dead.

AUSTIN, TX — A vigil for Heidi Elizabeth Broussard — the Austin woman reported missing with her infant before she was found dead in Houston last week — is scheduled on Monday evening, according to reports.
The vigil is scheduled to occur at Garrison Park, 6001 Menchaca Rd., at 6:30 p.m., KVUE reported. Gateway Church officials will lead in prayer, according to the report. Given the short notice for the event, members of the community wishing to attend are asked to bring their own candles, the station reported.
According to the report, several more vigils are planned in the days ahead.

Family members reported Broussard, 33, missing with her infant daughter on Dec. 12. Last Friday, the woman's body was found in the trunk of a car in the Houston area, and the baby was located unharmed. The child now is in the care of family members.

Patch reached out to the Harris County Institute for Forensic Services via email to confirm that Broussard was positively identified by examiners. Officials ruled the manner of her death a homicide and the cause ligature strangulation, officials told Patch.
Magen Fieramusca was arrested in the case, charged with two counts of kidnapping and tampering with a corpse. She remain at the Travis County Jail. At a subsequent press conference, police said Fieramusca, an acquaintance of Broussard's, had long plotted to kidnap the dead woman's child.
