Fort Worth ISD students improve on MAP test in every STAAR-tested grade, data shows (star-telegram.com) — Families in Fort Worth ISD are seeing encouraging signs as new data show students improved on beginning-of-year MAP tests in every STAAR-tested grade, especially in elementary math. District leaders credit teachers and new instructional focus, while stressing most students still aren't projected to reach grade level and that spring STAAR results will be the real test.
   

2. East Fort Worth community garden to grow foods from the Bible (fortworthreport.org) — A new community garden on Woodberry Drive in East Fort Worth is being cleared to grow Bible-inspired crops while teaching local youth gardening, cooking, and self-sufficiency skills. Led by the nonprofit TFT Organization and local partners, the project will feature greenhouses, a shed, and hands-on mentoring, with construction targeted to begin in January.
   

3. Fort Worth parents sue daycare for $1 million, alleging teacher encouraged 'fight club' between 4-year-olds (texarkanagazette.com) — Fort Worth parents have filed a lawsuit exceeding $1 million against Arka Montessori Academy of Risinger, alleging a teacher turned a classroom into a "fight club" where their 4-year-old was hurt. The suit, filed in Tarrant County, cites disturbing surveillance footage and a state investigation that found multiple violations, raising serious concerns for local families using area childcare centers.
   

4. 'What a privilege.' With tears of joy, 49 new Americans take oath in Fort Worth (star-telegram.com) — Fort Worth residents may have new neighbors after 49 people from 18 countries became U.S. citizens during an emotional naturalization ceremony in the city on Constitution Day. A federal judge and local leaders praised their persistence and highlighted how new citizens strengthen both Fort Worth and the country as a whole.
   

5. Concert Spotlight: Le Sserafim at Dickies Arena Sept. 27 (dallasnews.com) — Le Sserafim will bring its Pureflow world tour to Fort Worth's Dickies Arena on Sept. 27, giving local fans a chance to see one of K-pop's fastest-rising groups live. The show highlights how Korean pop is expanding across North Texas, with additional big-name concerts also scheduled in Fort Worth and nearby Dallas venues this month.
