1. More pools in Fort Worth? Here's what the city's new aquatics master plan proposes (fortworthreport.org) — Fort Worth is close to approving a sweeping aquatics master plan that could add new pools, spray grounds, and flagship aquatic centers across the city, including far north, south, west, and central neighborhoods. With council adoption expected Oct. 13, residents could eventually see more lap lanes, expanded YMCA partnerships, and a new Martin Luther King Jr. Pool in Stop Six by 2028.

2. Lake Como Cemetery could be made whole by incorporating parts of streets (fortworthreport.org) — Fort Worth's City Plan Commission just backed a move to fold nearby streets into Lake Como Cemetery after radar found graves outside its boundaries, helping make the historic site whole. Commissioners also delayed decisions on Panther Island zoning changes and heard updates on the McCart Avenue transportation corridor, which could reshape safety, traffic, and walkability in several Fort Worth neighborhoods.

3. Chinese Baptists hold biennial meeting at SWBTS (baptistpress.com) — Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth recently hosted about 250 Chinese Baptists from across North America for a four-day bilingual conference focused on missions and church unity. Attendees worshiped, joined workshops, enjoyed local Chinese, Vietnamese and Texas barbecue, and toured the historic Fort Worth Stockyards while networking with pastors, missionaries and seminary leaders.

4. Zoo's baby crocodiles are supporting an endangered species (and they're cute!) (myrtlebeachonline.com) — Fort Worth Zoo has successfully hatched eight critically endangered gharial crocodiles this summer, marking its fourth straight year of breeding these rare reptiles. Through carefully controlled habitats and long-term conservation planning, the zoo is helping bolster global gharial populations, with the new hatchlings eventually expected to join broader breeding and conservation programs once they mature.

5. DFW Airport Expanding Premium Lounges by More Than 45% as New Terminal Projects Advance (irvingweekly.com) — If you fly out of DFW from Fort Worth, expect many more premium lounge options in the coming years, with total lounge space slated to grow by more than 45%. New and expanded spaces from Chase, Plaza Premium, American Express, American Airlines and PS aim to improve comfort, dining, and check-in experiences as Terminal C is rebuilt and Terminal F comes online.
