Renewable energy plant will convert landfill emissions, support Fort Worth's trash demands (fortworthreport.org) — Fort Worth is moving ahead with a renewable natural gas plant at the city landfill that will capture methane, generate millions in annual revenue, and support long-term trash and recycling planning. Construction is slated to start in 2027, following recent budget increases and higher residential solid waste rates aimed at extending landfill life and expanding future disposal options.
   

2. Hardships continue at Fort Worth senior living community (fortworthreport.org) — Residents at Manor Independent Living in Fort Worth's Las Vegas Trail neighborhood are still living with leaks, fungus, and the threat of utility shutoffs while the city pursues an injunction and possible receivership against the property's owners. Fort Worth officials, nonprofits, and neighborhood groups are scrambling to protect mostly low-income and disabled seniors, help some relocate, and keep essential services like water from being cut off.
   

3. Zachry Launches Work Zone Safety Education Program (constructionowners.com) — A new work zone safety program has just launched in Fort Worth, tying directly into major highway projects that will affect how you drive for years. Zachry Construction's "Zone Ranger" outreach is working with local schools and families to promote safer behavior around construction zones, especially along TxDOT's long-term congestion relief projects in the Fort Worth area.
   

4. Michelin To Reveal Texas Guide — and Maybe a Star for Fort Worth? — in October (fwtx.com) — Fort Worth's restaurant scene is waiting to see if it will finally earn a coveted Michelin star when the 2026 Texas Guide is announced digitally on Oct. 8. Local spots like Goldee's, Beren Meze & Grill House, and Almacén El Gallo, plus Visit Fort Worth's pending decision on renewing the Michelin partnership, could shape the city's culinary reputation and tourism future.
   

5. Billy Bob's Texas upgrades sound and lighting systems at Stockyards venue (star-telegram.com) — Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth's Stockyards has overhauled its sound and lighting, doubling speaker coverage and adding concert-level LED rigs to improve shows for both artists and fans. After a fast installation in late August, the venue is now running arena-quality audio and lights, part of ongoing renovations that aim to modernize the iconic honky-tonk without losing its character.
