Gun Range Employee Indicted In Hot Wells Shooting
Tyler Sutton was indicted on a count of manslaughter and faces a sentence up to 20 years in prison in the shooting of a 36-year old man.

CYPRESS, TX — A Harris County grand jury has indicted a 21-year old man in the fatal shooting of a customer at a Cypress shooting range in December.
Tyler Sutton was indicted on one count of manslaughter, and faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison in the shooting death of 36-year old Joshua Luke Cummings.
Sutton was working at Hot Wells Shooting Range, and was servicing a rifle, when he pulled the trigger and fired a round through the window.

The bullet hit Cummings in the head, killing him as he was getting out of his pickup in the range parking lot.
He died at Memorial Hermann Hospital and left behind a wife and triplets.

In the days after the shooting, Hot Wells Shooting Range, located at U.S. 290 East and Barker Cypress, closed while the incident was under investigation and used that time to re-evaluate their own safety procedures, before announcing a slow reopening a week later.
The range is an outdoor facility, that offers classes for concealed carry permits, and target shooting areas for rifle, skeet and pistol shooting.
