Pflugerville Streets Closed Amid Suspicious Package Report
Early Wednesday, Police Chief Jessica Robledo made decision to close portions of downtown after 'suspicious behavior' around mailbox seen.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX ― Police shut down portions of downtown Pflugerville early Wednesday amid reports of a suspicious package in the wake of series of explosive packages that have triggered fear across the region.
"“Out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement followed up, and we are investigating the packages there to make sure there’s nothing to be concerned about,” Police Chief Jessica Robledo said said in a statement.
Robledo said "suspicious behavior" was reported around a mailbox along the 200 block of Second Street. No further details were provided. The chief urged residents to remain indoors.

The move comes after a series of parcel bombs that began March 2 that has left two people dead and others injured. The latest incident occurred at a FedEx office in Schertz, Texas, just outside San Antonio, where a package bound for Austin detonated. No major injuries were reported in that incident, other than a woman complaining of ringing in her ears after the blast.
