Carollo designing new reclamation facility in Odessa, Texas (waterfm.com) — Odessa's Bob Derrington Water Reclamation Plant is set for a major, years-long modernization, with Carollo Engineers leading design and construction support to keep wastewater treatment and reuse running during upgrades. The project will replace aging systems, improve odor control, boost reliability, and update power and controls, with completion targeted for spring 2033. City staff and residents will be involved through meetings and council briefings.

Jalapeño recall linked to salmonella prompts refunds at HEB, United Markets (firstalert7.com) — Odessa shoppers are being urged to check their fridges after a salmonella-related jalapeño recall affecting HEB and United Markets in the Midland–Odessa area, with refunds available for returned items. A local physician explains salmonella symptoms, how it differs from a simple stomach bug, and why staying hydrated and monitoring high fevers is important while the illness runs its course.
   

4. MCH emphasizes safe car seat installation practices (yourbasin.com) — Odessa parents are being reminded to double-check their children's car seats after AAA and Medical Center Hospital hosted a back-to-school safety bash highlighting how often seats are installed incorrectly. MCH's outreach coordinator urges families to keep kids rear-facing until they reach the seat's height and weight limits, even if it looks uncomfortable, and to carefully follow both vehicle and car seat manuals for proper installation.
