• Permian Wells Longer Than Three Miles Now Make Up 15 Percent of New Completions, Federal Data Shows (natureworldnews.com) — Odessa-area residents sit at the center of a major shift in Permian Basin drilling, where much longer horizontal wells are boosting oil and gas output while straining wastewater disposal options. Regulators have already curbed deep injection between Odessa and Midland after earthquake concerns, and state agencies are now weighing whether, and how safely, to allow treated produced water into rivers or onto land. 
• TX-DOT studies routes for I-14 Central Texas Corridor from Rogers to Huntsville, Cameron prepares for proposed changes (kwtx.com) — Planners expect Interstate 14 to eventually run from Odessa all the way to Augusta, Georgia, and a key Central Texas segment is now under study. TxDOT is weighing five possible routes between Rogers and Huntsville, with Cameron leaders pushing a preferred option they say could boost growth while reshaping traffic, safety, and business patterns across the corridor.
