Friendswood Police Arrest Man In Bizarre Road Rage Incident
Man allegedly pelted victim's car with crackers before upgrading to the Louisville Slugger he used on his windshield.

FRIENDSWOOD, TX -- A man who is accused of attacking another man during a road rage incident in December, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Michael Data, 29, was arrested on Feb. 21 on a traffic violation at the intersection of Moore Road and West Parkwood Avenue
Data is accused of throwing crackers at a man during an incident on Winding Road and Broadway Street on Dec. 22, 2016, and smashing his windshield with a baseball bat later that same day.

The incident began when Data, who was walking along Winding Street, allegedly yelled at a driver to slow down and threw crackers at this car.

When the man stopped to confront Data, police said Data dumped the box of crackers through an open window into the car.
According to police, the man threw the crackers back at Data and tried to drive off, but Data allegedly grabbed onto the car and was dragged several feet before falling off into the street.

During this melee, Data’s cell phone fell into the man’s car.
Data tracked his cellphone to a construction site, and according to witnesses, drove to the site in a luxury SUV wielding a baseball bat.
Witnesses said Data got out of the SUV and began hitting the victim’s car, shattering the windows, the windshield, which injured the car’s owner with flying glass.
The victim recorded the attack on his cellphone, which he shared with police.
On Jan. 25, a warrant was issued for Data’s arrest.
When he was arrested on Feb. 21, Data was driving a truck without license plates, and identified himself to police.
He was arrested and his bond was set at $40,000.
