Round Rock Kidnapping Suspect Has Long History Of Assaults
Terry Allen Miles, 44, was arrested in the past for assaulting four girlfriends in Louisiana, telling one she'd end up in a body bag.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The man accused of kidnapping two Round Rock girls and taking them to Colorado before they were found safe has a long history of assaults against women, according to a published report.
Details continue to emerge on the background of 44-year-old Terry Miles — the man accused of kidnapping his roommate's 7- and 14-year-old girls after the mother was found slain in her home — since the New Year's Eve incident. He's now a person of interest in the woman's death.
According to a report in the Austin American-Statesman, Miles was accused of assaulting four former girlfriends in Louisiana, telling one of them she'd end up in a body bag should she leave him. The details in the report are drawn from past arrest affidavits.

Miles has since been extradited back to Texas to face charges, but the site of his detention has been kept from the public over security concerns. He was arrested in Colorado with the two girls in the backseat of the vehicle he was driving on Jan. 3. The girls are now in foster care in Hays County, according to reports.
Past arrest affidavits detail Miles was charged at least five times between 2009 to 2015 in connection with domestic violence incidents in Sulphur, La., the newspaper reported. In one 2009 incident, he punched a girlfriend with such force to render her unconscious, according to the report. He was subsequently placed on probation for one year, the newspaper found.
In 2011, Miles was angered when a girlfriend declined to sell her medication at his behest. He pushed her down stairs and dragged her by the hair, according to an affidavit. Again, he was convicted of domestic battery and served a year's probation. In September of that same year, he was charged with attempted second-degree murder when he beat the same woman with a baseball bat after accusing her of being involved with another man, the Statesman reported.
The woman later committed suicide, prompting prosecutors not to pursue the case, according to the report.
There's more: In 2014 and 2015, he was charged after punching girlfriends in the face — warning the second woman she'd end up in a body bag should she attempt to leave him. Miles was given five years' probation on that and other charges, only to have the sentence suspended to just one year with credit for time served, according to the report.
