Bull calf "Moodini" that evaded Animal Care Services reunited with owner (expressnews.com) — A wandering bull calf nicknamed "Moodini" is back with his owner after briefly escaping San Antonio Animal Care Services and roaming a South Side Walmart parking lot. ACS officers herded the calf from Southeast Military Drive into a drainage tunnel, safely loaded him into a trailer, and cited the owner under city rules that prohibit livestock from roaming within San Antonio limits.
   

2. San Antonio residents encouraged to reduce energy usage during extreme summer heat (news4sanantonio.com) — San Antonio residents are being urged by CPS Energy to trim electricity use during the hottest hours to ease strain on the grid and cut bills. Local HVAC experts and neighbors share practical tips, from modest thermostat adjustments to better attic insulation and shading windows or decks, to keep homes cooler without overworking air conditioners.
   

3. San Antonio airport to receive $31 million in air traffic control upgrades (ksat.com) — San Antonio International Airport is set to receive roughly $30 million in new air traffic control technology as part of a national modernization push. Federal officials say upgrades like fiber connections, electronic flight strips, clearer radios, and better surface-awareness systems should boost safety and reliability for local travelers by 2028, especially during bad weather and heavy traffic.
   

4. San Antonio school districts expand safety measures as new Texas requirements take effect (foxsanantonio.com) — San Antonio school districts are ramping up safety this year, from North East ISD's new Wilshire Safety Training Center for police and first responders to Northside ISD's door alarms and added officers. New Texas rules are also pushing districts to extend emergency planning to after-school events and giving the state more power to intervene when safety standards aren't met.

San Antonio hears District 6 input on Nelson Wolff Stadium future at second meeting (news4sanantonio.com) — San Antonio leaders are asking District 6 residents what should replace Nelson Wolff Stadium as the Missions prepare to move downtown, with three redevelopment concepts already on the table.
