Bus Strikes Pedestrian In South Austin
Austin-Travis County EMS medics were dispatched to South 1st Street/Barton Springs Road where they found man in his 40s injured.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — Medics responded to South Austin on Monday evening amid reports of a city bus running over a pedestrian.
Austin-Travis County EMS medics were dispatched to South 1st Street at Barton Springs Road just before 7 p.m. after getting a call about the injured pedestrian. The victim, a man in his 40s, was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with injuries that were not deemed to be life-threatening, medics said via Twitter.
It's unclear how many passengers were on the Capital Metro bus at the time of the collision. No other injuries were reported, and further details were not released.

The incident marks the second time in two weeks that a pedestrian has been struck by a Cap Metro bus. A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a bus at the University of Texas at Austin campus on Jan. 28. The collision occurred at San Jacinto Boulevard and 23rd Street just after 10:30 p.m., near the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Another pedestrian was struck and killed by a Capital Metro bus on Sept. 20, 2018. According to police, Andrew Sanchez, 29, was laying down on the westbound lanes along the 1000 block of St. Johns Boulevard when he was run over. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
And in on April 17, 2017, UT-Austin student Nancy-Jane David, a Chi Omega sorority member, was hit by a bus from behind as she rode a moped in East Austin. The incident occurred near the 4000 block of Manor Road when the young woman was struck by a bus traveling behind her just after 7 p.m. Reports indicate the victim had experienced mechanical difficulty on her moped before being struck by the bus, which was empty at the time save for the driver who stayed on the scene until police arrived.
