Colorado Woman in Labor Stops at Polls to Vote Before Giving Birth

New mother Sosha Adelstein had an important mission.

Sosha Adelstein went into labor four days earlier than she had expected. On Friday afternoon, she quickly made an important pit stop on her way to the hospital: She stopped at the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder's Office to drop off her ballot, CNN reports.

Adelstein wanted to fulfill her civic duty before she gave birth to her first child, Bella Rose, who she expected to give birth to on Election Day.

"We ran over there and kind of made it just in time, because like shortly after that I was like, 'OK, it's time. We got to get to the hospital,'" she told KTRK.

Adelstein's partner, Max Brandel, joined her to drop off his ballot at the polls as well.

Boulder County spokeswoman Mircalla Wozniak told the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper that the election judge could tell Adelstein was in labor.
