Winchester Unitarian Society

For the second consecutive year, “Dr. Feverdream’s Halloween Experiment” will take over Winchester Unitarian Society (WUS) with multi-sensory installations, animatronics, immersive sets, hundreds of props, and dozens of actors, promising visitors a Haunted House experience like no other. Following on last year’s breakout debut, “Dr. Feverdream’s Halloween Experiment” offers spine-chilling experiences for thrill-seekers as well as friendlier adventures for young children and families. The event takes place on Friday, October 23, and Saturday October 24, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at 478 Main Street, Winchester.Every October, so the story goes, the normally respectable neuroscientist Dr. Feverdream pauses his regular research to study how fear affects people in and around Winchester. This Halloween, he’s studying the effects of ancient Greek monsters and punishments on the human psyche. (For the younger set, he’s studying daydreaming.) On entering the Haunted House, guests are invited to choose one of three pathways. Fearless folks can take either the Scary Path of Punishments or make their way through the Dark Labyrinth of Monsters, while families and young children can travel a fun-filled pathway on a Rainforest Adventure. All pathways end in the Haunted Hall, where guests can play games and other activities and purchase snacks and treats. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in advance and at the door with cash, credit card, or e-payments. For tickets, go to https://www.winchesteruu.org/2026/09/19/haunted-house/. For more information, call 781-729-0949.
Free parking is available on the street and in the staff parking lot of McCall Middle School next door.

Mystic Open Studio

The October Full Moon is named the Hunter’s Moon. The name reflects the time of year when deer were hunted to stockpile for the winter months. It will bring with it themes of preparation, clarity and discernment. It asks what must be secured, and what must be released. This moon will be in Taurus and is an earth sign that is associated with the physical world. The energy around the moon in this sign will be around, stability, resources, comfort, values, and what we need to do to secure these before the colder months.
=The Mystic Moon Full Moon Ceremony is an invitation to gather in community, honor the energy of the Full Moon, and reflect on the wisdom of nature’s cycles.
Throughout the evening, we are guided through meditation, reflection, shared insight, and ritual, creating intentional lists of what we are ready to release and what we wish to call into our lives. Under the open sky, we offer these lists to the fire in a symbolic act of letting go and manifestation.
The evening closes with oracle cards, allowing each person to receive a message, affirmation, or gentle guidance from the universe.

This gathering is welcoming, nurturing, and supportive — open to all who feel called to connect, reflect, release, and renew.$35
