Happy hour just got a whole lot happier in Old Town. Current Boutique is hosting a free Sip &amp; Shop on Friday, July 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at its King Street boutique — a summer evening of complimentary refreshments, personal styling, and luxury consignment shopping.
Part of the boutique's complimentary Styling Series, the event invites guests to unwind after work, browse fresh summer arrivals featuring designer and contemporary brands at consignment prices, and get one-on-one styling advice from the Current Boutique team. Whether you're building a vacation wardrobe, searching for a wedding-season statement piece, or simply looking for a fun Friday night out in Old Town, all are welcome — and friends are encouraged.
Current Boutique has served the DC Metro area for nearly 20 years, with luxury consignment boutiques in Old Town Alexandria, Georgetown, 14th Street DC, and Clarendon. The shop promotes sustainable fashion by keeping high-quality designer pieces in circulation at a fraction of retail prices.
The event is free to attend. The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.

Join the Alexandria Film Festival as we honor American ideals with the Virginia premiere of "Space Cowboy." You may not recognize the name Joe Jennings, but you likely know his work that ranges from Super Bowl ads to Baywatch stunt scenes. Jennings, the subject of the feature documentary “Space Cowboy,” has been achieving aerial feats of skydiving cinematography since the 1980s. Now in his 60’s, Jennings looks back at his life and career while planning his latest gravity-defying stunt. Through interviews and archival footage, he confronts the challenges of a high-risk occupation marked by adrenaline highs and emotional lows.
