Just drive along Western Highway in the historic hamlet of Tappan and turn into either Bogart Place or Lafayette Street and look for this .

It was where our Army would prepare to send 1.3 million GIs across the Atlantic Ocean to fight the nazi army. "Last Stop USA" for too many !
It began as a Post Office & PX {Post Exchange} for the 1950's Nike Missile Program Rockland Headquarters on Western Highway in Tappan.
Its comforting to know that our Government has not given up trying to provide homes for our homeless veterans at least in the Hudson Valley.

I thought I knew how much the businesses in Rockland cared about our Veterans and their role in our County's history, until right now.
It was the largest Port of Embarkation in the world for 1.3 million GI's from all over America headed to Europe to fight nazis in WW II

Orangetown seems to me that it is the perfect place to live ->a great Hospital, 2 great Colleges, 3 Great School Districts & lots of music !

Rockland is home to more than 9000 Military Veterans and Rockland has a fabulous military history going as far back as our Revolutionary War
I will explain myself with 2s & 3s to prove my Town has twice everything great.
Even in times of troubles, some serious, some not so serious. but it could not, will not, diminish the title of the land of opportunity.
