City officials say the three-acre, city-owned Sears Lane parcel could add 200 to 300 more homes, with a focus on family-sized units, seniors who want to downsize, and stronger affordability standards.
   

2. Burlington updates community on housing strategy as city works toward 7,000 new homes by 2050 (mynbc5.com) — Burlington officials are outlining an ambitious plan to add about 7,000 new homes citywide by 2050, with roughly 280 units needed each year to stay on track. The mayor's team is eyeing big redevelopments, small infill projects, and changes to inclusionary zoning to boost long-term affordability and double required affordable units over the next decade.
   

3. State of Vermont Superior Court, Probate Division, Chittenden Unit, Docket No. 26-PR-03600 (sevendaysvt.com) — Residents with claims related to the estate of Williston's Samuel Faris are being formally notified that they must file written claims within four months of the first publication date. Filings should be sent to the listed executors in Williston with a copy to the Chittenden Probate Court on Main Street in Burlington.

Group pushes for more state transit funding in Burlington (mychamplainvalley.com) — Public transit riders in Burlington are being asked to speak up as a new "Ride Public" campaign pushes Vermont lawmakers for stable, long-term transit funding. With Green Mountain Transit already cutting or reducing routes serving Burlington-area communities, organizers argue better funding is vital for workers, students, seniors, and people with disabilities statewide.
   

5. Winooski students can ride the bus for free thanks to new deal with GMT (burlingtonfreepress.com) — Winooski students can now ride Green Mountain Transit buses for free on weekdays, and district leaders hope to expand the program with neighboring systems that serve Burlington. The pilot could eventually create a county-wide student transit network, making it easier for teens to reach jobs, activities, and services in Burlington and other nearby communities while easing pressure on crowded yellow school buses.
