• There and Back Again—The Journeys of Two Wood Thrush (audubon.org) — A Wood Thrush tagged in Shelburne and later detected at Shelburne Farms is helping scientists map the species' remarkable migration between Vermont and Central America. Along with another tracked bird, its journey is feeding a major Audubon and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service study aimed at protecting this rapidly declining songbird. The data will guide future habitat conservation across the hemisphere. 
• Welch highlights push to bring locally grown food to kids at school (wcax.com) — Shelburne hosted a statewide school nutrition conference where Sen. Peter Welch pushed to get more locally grown food onto students' lunch trays. Speaking to Vermont school nutrition leaders, he tied farm-to-school efforts to better learning and highlighted a new federal law allowing whole milk in the National School Lunch Program. State agriculture resources are available to help schools connect with nearby farms.
• Baseball Announces Additions To 2027 Roster (daytonflyers.com) — Shelburne native Travis Stroh is transferring to the University of Dayton baseball program after two strong seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson, where he stole 50 bases and set a single-game RBI record. The Flyers' newly finalized 2027 roster mixes returning standouts with a large class of freshmen and transfers from across the U.S. and abroad.
