Arlington Chef Nominated for Major Honor

The James Beard Foundation has nominated Peter Chang for his new restaurant in Arlington.

An acclaimed Chinese-born chef has opened a restaurant in Arlington that could take home a top honor from the 2016 James Beard Awards.

The James Beard Foundation recently nominated Peter Chang in its “Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic” category for his self-titled restaurant that recently opened in Arlington on North Harrison Street, the seventh restaurant he’s unveiled in Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area.

Chang is already a chef with a sterling reputation: popular Travel Channel host Andrew Zimmern once said that “many consider Peter Chang to be the greatest Chinese chef cooking in America.” Chang hails from the Hubei Province in China and has traversed the United States cooking his food, but he has since settled down in Virginia.

Residents will again be treated to his fan favorite dishes, including Duck in a Stone Pot, Chicken with Onion & Chili and Dry-Fried Eggplant. While the Peter Chang family continues to grow, the quest for quality remains the same, with cuisine comprised of only the finest and freshest ingredients. See today why his bold tastes and full-flavored dishes have taken Virginia by storm, earning the praise of diners, as well as accolades from The New York Times, Washington Post and Travel & Leisure.”
