Arlington Man Tries To Steal Motorcycle With Air Pistol: Police
Arlington County Police arrested a 36-year-old man who they say tried to steal a motorcycle with a Airsoft gun on Thursday afternoon.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 36-year-old Arlington man is facing multiple charges after trying to steal a motorcycle with an Airsoft gun Tuesday afternoon in Glebewood, according to Arlington County Police.
Officers responded around 1:21 p.m. for the report of a suspicious person in the area of North Culpeper Street at 19th Street North.
"Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim observed the male suspect attempting to steal his motorcycle and confronted him during which the suspect displayed what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported," according to the incident report. ".Responding officers located the suspect inside a nearby residence and subsequently took him into custody."

During the investigation, police recovered suspected narcotics and an Airsoft gun, according to ACPD. The officers also determined that the suspect was a convicted felon.
Timothy Daerray Hudgens was arrested and charged with attempted carjacking, use of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance, according to police.

Hudgens was scheduled to be arraigned in Arlington General District Court on Friday morning, according to court records. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 2.
The attempted carjacking charge is a Class 4 felony, which carries a sentence of two to 10 years in prison and a potential fine of up to $100,000, under the Code of Virginia.
The use of a firearm in commission of a felony is an unclassified felony. If convicted of this charge, Hudgens faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of three years, according VA law.

On the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charge, which is a Class 5 felony, Hudgens faces a potential prison sentence of one to 10 years or confinement in jail for up to 12 months, along with a possible fine, according to the Virginia code.
The charge of possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance is a Class 6 felony, which is punishable by one to five years in prison, a jail term of up to 12 months, or both, along with a potential fine of up to $2,500, according to Virginia law.
On Nov. 9, 2021, Hudgens pleaded guilty in Arlington Circuit Court to possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance. He was sentenced to three years in prison, which were suspended, and two years of probation, according to court documents.
