His attorneys have supplied witness video, requested extensive evidence preservation, and sought U visa certification, while DHS maintains officers used necessary force and that he remained responsive after the encounter.
   

4. Man who admitted to Ballston shooting in 2025 is arrested on murder charge in D.C. (arlnow.com) — Arlington readers are learning that the man who previously admitted to a 2025 shooting inside Marymount University's Placemakr building in Ballston is now charged with second-degree murder in Washington, D.C. Prosecutors here had secured guilty pleas on two felony counts and a deferred adjudication, while D.C. investigators now link him to a May shooting death in Southeast.
   

5. Arlington Community High School gets permanent home at Amazon HQ2 after 96 years (wusa9.com) — Arlington Community High School now has a permanent, rent-free home inside Amazon's HQ2 in National Landing, giving about 300 nontraditional students access to modern classrooms, a library and career-focused spaces. The partnership with Arlington Public Schools also promises Amazon professionals on campus, internships and job-shadowing, which local leaders say could open new career paths for students balancing work and school.
