Ballston Carjacking Leads To Police Pursuit; Car Recovered In DC

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred Wednesday night in Ballston.

Officers responded around 10:33 p.m., for the report of a stolen vehicle in the 4000 block of Wilson Blvd.

A preliminary investigation revealed that two men approached the victim, who was sitting inside his parked vehicle. The three engaged in a conversation, until suspects opened his car doors and forced him out of the vehicle. They then drove off with his car.

In response to a lockout issued by ACPD, the Virginia State Police spotted the vehicle outside of the county and began a pursuit. Arlington officers joined the pursuit when the vehicle entered the county on I-395. Eventually, the pursuit was cancelled, once the vehicle left Virginia.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Washington, D.C., and the suspects were not located, according to ACPD. No injuries were reported as a result of the carjacking.

Police described the first suspect as a thin Black man, who was about 6 feet in height. He was wearing a puffy jacket and a black mask. The second suspect was also a thin black man, who was approximately 6 feet tall. he wa wearing a black jacket and gray sweatpants, according to police.
