The ARTS Place Pop-Up at 3130 Langston Boulevard in Arlington, VA, enters its final weekend Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, 2026. Arlington artist Barbara Januszkiewicz is marking the close by giving away the art library she has built over many years. Visitors to her showroom can browse her paintings and take home books on art, art history and technique as a gift.

The library includes books on master painters, art history and how-to titles. Among them are Finch's American Watercolors, a Renoir monograph, a book of Turner watercolors, an Andrew Wyeth volume, Triumph of Realism, a guide to the art of drawing, and Irving Stone's The Agony and the Ecstasy. Visitors can also take one of Januszkiewicz's hand-painted art bookmarks.

“These books taught me, inspired me and kept me company in the studio for years,” said Januszkiewicz. “My hope is that by Sunday, every one of them goes home with a new friend.”

Januszkiewicz is a color-field painter and public artist whose work is in the collections of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Sandy Spring Museum. Her large-scale plexiglass artwork Purple Haze is installed at Capital Crossing in Washington, DC. She taught watercolor for ten years as an adjunct professor at the Corcoran College of Art + Design and for twelve years at McLean Project for the Arts.

The ARTS Place Pop-Up opened September 10 and features artwork by more than 40 local artists working in many styles and media. Over seven weeks it has hosted weekly events, workshops and performances. Januszkiewicz and many of the other artists will be there through closing day. Rooney Properties LLC generously provided the space, and the Pop-Up is free and open to the public.

The ARTS Place Pop-Up is open Friday through Sunday, October 23–25, 2026, from 12 to 6 PM at 3130 Langston Boulevard, Arlington, VA.
