Arlington County Police arrested a Chantilly man after they say tried to force his way into a Lyon Park residence early Saturday morning.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a Chantilly man early Sunday morning after they say he attempted to unlawfully enter a residence in the Lyon Park area, according to the daily crime report.
Officers responded around 1:45 a.m., for the report of a suspicious person at a residence in the 3100 block of 9th St. N. The victim told the officers she was inside her residence when she heard a noise at her door and observed a man standing outside. When the victim opened the door to see if the man needed help, he asked to be let inside, kicking a shoe and his phone into the victim's residence. As the victim went to retrieve the items, the man started damaging her property outside. He then pushed the victim as he attempted to gain entry. Yelling for help, the victim fought back. A neighbor came to the victim's assistance and chased the man out of the building.
Following a preliminary investigation, ACPD determined the man had gained entry into another building. Police arrested Kyle Lewis, 22, of Chantilly, and charged him with assault and battery, unlawful entry, and being drunk in public.
