Coronavirus: Arlington County Announces Metro Station Closures, Other Transit Changes
Starting on Thursday, March 26, Metro will be closing 17 Metro stations.

Starting on Thursday, March 26, Metro will be closing 17 Metro stations in an effort to conserve critical resources and protect the health and safety of Metro employees and the public. The stations will remain closed until further notice and trains will pass through without stopping.

The following Metro station closures in Arlington will impact several ART routes:

The Arlington Cemetery Metro Station also will remain closed. The North entrance at the Ronald Reagan National Airport Station will be closed, but the South entrance will remain open.
ART will continue to operate Saturday schedules on ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, 77 and 87 every day, with the following changes:
- ART 42 & 87 will terminate at the Pentagon instead of Pentagon City
- ART 45 will start 1 hour early at 6:30 am
- ART 43 will operate every 20 minutes from 6 am to 11 pm following its weekday route
All other ART routes will not operate.
ART bus riders are asked to enter and exit all ART buses using the rear doors only. Customers who require the use of a wheelchair ramp can still enter the bus through the front door. ART will also be suspending fare collection on all ART buses since the farebox is located at the front door.
ART will continue to take precautions to keep passengers and bus operators safe, including deep cleaning and sanitizing all buses thoroughly at the end of each night.
Arlington Transit encourages social distancing on all buses and asks that riders use ART for essential travel only.
