Our Future Scientists,  Christopher A.M. Gerlach & Morgan Huston, Independent Science Research class at TC Williams High School, taught by Shawn Lowe. 
Thunderstorm winds have caused severe damage and hundreds of casualties over the past few years, including an extreme example near Washington DC on August 5, 2010. Christopher A.M. Gerlach will present a case study of this event, demonstrate the techniques he uses to analyze such storms, and discuss his current and future research    toward better prediction of such storms.
How does our language shape the way we think? Can it affect what is memorable?  Morgan Huston will summarize current findings on language and the brain as well as her own project on this subject.
