Fall Sports at Washington-Lee Start Next Week
Get ready for another great season of Generals sports.

With fall sports at Washington-Lee starting next week, it looks like summer vacation is beginning to wind down.
Fall sports at W-L include: cheerleading, cross country, dance, field hockey, football, golf and volleyball. All participants must have their physical and permission forms turned in prior to tryouts, see tryout details below:
-Cheerleading, coached by Jen Blasioli, will hold tryouts Aug. 9-11 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the wrestling room. Tryouts are mandatory and girls are to wear a white t-shirt, dark shorts, tennis shoes/socks and their hair pulled back.

-Cross Country, coached by Matt and Laura Przydzial, begin official practices Aug. 9 at 7:30 a.m. on the track.
-Field Hockey, coached by Beth Prange (varsity), Jenni MacIntosh and Rachel Sauer (junior varsity), and Kate Savitz (freshmen), start tryouts Aug. 8 from 6-9 a.m.

-Football, coached by Josh Shaprio, will hold varsity and JV equipment handouts on Saturday: seniors are to come at 9 a.m., juniors at 11 a.m., and sophomores at 1 p.m. Varsity and JV practice begins Aug. 8, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Freshmen (including 8th graders) have a team meeting Aug. 8 at 3 p.m., and will hand out equipment Aug. 9 at 3 p.m.. (The first freshmen practice will be Aug. 10, but the time is still TBA.)
-Golf, coached by Will Downs, started today at 11 a.m. at Oak Marr Recreation Center. Contact Downs for more information, will.downs@verizon.net.
-Volleyball, coached by John Delaney, will hold tryouts Aug. 8-12. Tryouts for junior varsity are from 9-11 a.m., tryouts for varsity are from 11-2 p.m., and freshmen tryouts are from 3:30-5:30 p.m.. All teams will practice together on Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.. Participants should come prepared to move with sneakers, knee pads and waterbottles.
