Indecent Exposure Suspect Arrested After Officer Deploys Taser: Police

Arlington County Police arrested a man they say exposing himself in the Lyon Park area. Officers used a Taser to arrest the suspect.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 47-year-old Arlington man was arrested in an indecent exposure incident that occurred Saturday afternoon in the Lyon Park area, according to Arlington County Police.

A police officer responded around 3:36 p.m. to North Pershing Drive at North Fillmore Street for the report of a suspicious person in the road. When the officer arrived, they saw a man acting disorderly and exposing himself, according to a police report.

At first, the officer told the man to stop what he was doing, but he did not comply. When another officer arrived, they ordered the man to stop. While attempting to take the suspect into custody, he continued to disregard police orders until one of the officers used their Taser, according to police.

They were able to arrest the man, identified as 47-year-old Javan Harris of Arlington.

Harris was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Later, police charged him with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, according to ACPD.
