Police Investigate Death Of Man Who Was Found Unresponsive In Arlington Jail Cell
Man waiting for court hearing died Tuesday after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Arlington County Detention Facility.
ARLINGTON, VA — Paul Thompson, 41, died Tuesday in the medical unit at the Arlington County Detention Facility after he was found unresponsive in his cell, according to a police release.
Arlington County Sheriff's deputies and medical staff found Thompson in his cell around 3:06 p.m. and immediately began making life-saving efforts. Medic 104 from the Arlington County Police Department arrived on the scene at 3:13 p.m. and transported the patient to the Virginia Hospital Center. Thompson was pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m.
Police arrested Thompson on Jan. 13 and charged him with trespassing. He was in the detention facility awaiting his court hearing.

ACPD is investigating Thompson's death. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
