Man Reports Ugly Racial Confrontation at Courthouse Metro Station
A possible Vietnam veteran told a darker-skinned man that "it's a good thing you'll all be gone soon," the man claimed.

ARLINGTON, VA — As protests of Donald Trump's presidency continue to grow, reports are rising of racial incidents throughout the D.C. area, including one right here in Arlington recently.
Karthik Subramanian said in a recent Facebook post that he was in the Courthouse Metro station walking toward his home when he noticed three older white men who were wearing armed forces insignia and had appeared to have just come from Arlington National Cemetery.
Subramanian said that one of the men addressed him directly, saying: "You know, I didn't go [to] Vietnam to serve you. It's a good thing you'll all be gone soon."

Subramanian said he responded by thanking him for his service "no matter whom you fought for or why you went."
The man shot back at him, "It'll be great again soon," an apparent reference to Donald Trump's campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again."

"That's pretty much everything, except for the part that I was able to hold my tears until I got home," Subramanian added in the post, which has been shared nearly 400 times as of Tuesday morning.
Trump has been vilified by his opponents, who claim that his rhetoric has been racially charged, frequently targeting Mexican and Arab immigrants.
