Mobile COVID-19 Test Center Replacing Arlington Drive-Thru Site
Arlington County is starting a mobile walk-up testing service on Tuesday in partnership with Quest Diagnostics.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County is starting a mobile walk-up testing service on Tuesday in partnership with Quest Diagnostics, a private clinical laboratory.
Tests at the mobile testing command center, at 1429 N. Quincy Street across the street from the David M. Brown planetarium, will be free of charge. The mobile test center is replacing the current drive-thru testing site at the same location.
The mobile test site will operate at the location for two weeks, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The mobile site will move to new locations on a two to three-week rotational basis to offer walk-up COVID-19 testing across the county.

At the mobile testing site, self-administered nasal tests will be offered to resident 4 years of age and older at no cost to the person. The tests do not require a medical referral or appointment, regardless of insurance or immigration status.
However, participants will be asked for insurance information, if available, so insurance providers can be billed, but no co-pay from participants will be required.

“Mobile testing is the latest addition to our efforts to remove barriers to COVID-19 testing for all Arlingtonians," Dr. Aaron Miller, director of the Arlington County Department of Public Safety Communications and Emergency Management, said Friday in a statement.
"We hope that by bringing testing to residents, we can encourage people to seek testing when they need it and how they need it — regardless of insurance status, access to a vehicle, or other potential constraints they may face,” Miller said.
While appointments are not required, one can be made by visiting the Quest Diagnostics website.
