Obamacare Repeal: How VA Representatives Voted
Here's a list of how Virginia's congressmen and women voted when the House successfully voted to repeal Obamacare Thursday.
ARLINGTON, VA — The House of Representatives, by the slimmest of margins, passed a health care bill on Thursday that would repeal and replace major parts of the Affordable Care Act. The final tally was 217-213, but Virginia representatives voted 6-5 for the bill.
Here's what some of Virginia's elected officials said about the bill's passage:
Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-6th, voted in favor of the bill. He said he believes Obamacare is collapsing and the nation can "do better."

"The AHCA expands health savings accounts, giving patients more options of how to spend and save their hard-earned money," Goodlatte said in a statement. "This bill also protects life by blocking funding for Planned Parenthood and directing that funding instead to Community Health Centers, like the ones serving many communities in the Sixth District."
Rep. Donald McEachin, D-4th, tweeted about standing in opposition to the AHCA. McEachin said he thinks AHCA discriminates against people with pre-existing conditions and thinks the AHCA is unacceptable for Americans in rural communities, who "will have less access to care under the bill."

For Americans with pre-existing conditions, #Trumpcare would mean ↑in premiums, ↑ in deductibles & long waiting periods for coverage.

Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-9th, released a statement saying:
"The new bill guarantees everyone has access to health insurance. The bill sets up a system with choices instead of mandates, and will lower costs over time, making care for all more affordable. A piece of paper saying you have health insurance does not mean you can always afford healthcare.”
Rep. Don Beyer, D-8th, tweeted:
Insane? Yes. Madness? Yes. Destructive? Yes. Horribly irresponsible? Yes. Hurts millions of Americans? Yes. That is all.#Trumpcare #VoteNo https://t.co/dijfLYd698
