Pet Of The Week: Adopt This Wigglebutt With A Fascinating History
Romeo recently transferred from Lebanon, where he survived the Beirut explosion.
ARLINGTON, VA —Romeo, a 10-year-old neutered male chihuahua mix, is a recent transfer from Lebanon and is a survivor of the Beirut explosion. Now that he's here, he is slowly adjusting to his new environment. Because of Romeo's background, it is understandable that he can be a bit shy and fearful around new people. He can be very sensitive, so he can not go to a home with young children (teenagers OK). Once he's comfortable around you (which doesn't take long if you come armed with treats!) he is a very affectionate little wigglebutt.
Romeo has made a lot of progress here at the shelter and will require continued patience and TLC in his new home. His adopter will need to be willing to understand his past and be committed to helping him thrive. Our adoptions team will be happy to share more information with adopters about what post-adoption care and training will look like for him.
If you are interested in adopting Romeo, please schedule an appointment to meet him. Please note that we have very limited availability for in shelter visitation right now and all adoptions will be processed on a first come, first matched basis. If you do not see an option to schedule an appointment — that appointment time and date is already booked.
