Weapon Violations Filed Against Suspect Arrested In Marijuana Sting: ACPD
Arlington County police levied weapon charges against an 18-year-old man who was arrested as part of a marijuana investigation in January.

ARLINGTON, VA — An 18-year-old Arlington man who was arrested last month in south Rossyln as part of a marijuana investigation is facing additional weapon charges, according to authorities.
On Thursday, Arlington County police charged Kidus Wegen with violent felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and carry loaded firearm in public areas prohibited, according to a release.
Wegen was already charged with unlawfully carrying a concealed handgun, obstruction of justice, and possession of marijuana by a person Less than 21 years of age in connection to his arrest in January.

On Jan. 17, officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to a residential building building in the 1600 block of 16th Street North to investigate a noise complaint.

"Upon arrival, officers encountered a group outside the building smoking marijuana in public," according to the incident report. "The suspect fled from officers and following a foot pursuit, he was taken into custody in the 1500 block of North Queen Street."
