Be Wary of Strangers: Sterling Kids Shy Away From Two Men
Wednesday incidents occurred near same intersection, says Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Loudoun County police are patrolling a Sterling neighborhood where, on Wednesday afternoon, strangers accosted two middle school students.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has labeled both incidents as “suspicious events,” according to a police report. Both occurred in the vicinity of the intersection of Maple Avenue and Sterling Boulevard.

The first incident took place at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, the police report said. A juvenile reported she was walking home from middle school when a man driving a dark gray sedan pulled up to the intersection.
The driver, described as a bald white man in his mid-40s with a full beard, asked the girl if she wanted pizza, Loudoun police said. The man then asked her to get into his car.

She said the man exited his vehicle before re-entering the car. The child left the area with no further contact with the subject, according to the police.
The second incident occurred at about the same time, between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m., police said.
A juvenile reported on Thursday to a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer that at that time on Wednesday, she was walking home from middle school when a man approached her in a small, dark green four-door vehicle.
The driver, described as a black man with short dark hair with some white accents, made gestures as if he was trying to hand her his cell phone, police said. The driver turned into an entrance, stopped his vehicle and again made gestures as if he was attempting to hand her the phone.
The child then left the area without further contact with the stranger, police said.
