Fatal Shooting: Fundraiser to Support Ashburn Family

A GoFundMe fundraiser has launched in support of Denise Mattison and her family. Mattison’s husband, Corey Mattison, was shot and killed by Denise’s ex-husband, Minh Nguyen. Nguyen is charged with first degree murder.

The GoFundMe account had raised more than $13,500 in its first two days.

“Social media has allowed many of us watch Denise and Corey’s love story unfold,” writes fundraiser creator Amanda Baxter. “I have been inspired through their faith, commitment, love and joy as they merged their families into one…I ask as a community of friends, strangers or anyone blessed to have loved or been loved that we contribute to covering some of the expenses that come with such tragedy.”
