Graffiti Vandals Target Sterling Neighborhood

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office: Home, business and two vehicles are tagged over weekend.

The plague of graffiti in the area continued last weekend, as a vandal or vandals spray-painted a home, a business and two vehicles in a neighborhood near the Sterling Plaza shopping center.

Two incidents occurred on Essex Square in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. At some time between 9:15 and 10:23 p.m. Friday, an unknown subject spray-painted a vehicle parked in the 30 block of Essex Square.

And at some point between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, an unknown person or group spray-painted the exterior side of a residence in the 20 block of Essex Square. The owner of the home was not located at the time of the report, the sheriff’s office said.

Graffiti was also spray-painted on the exterior wall of a business in the 46000 block of Briarcroft Plaza between 10 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office said. And between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, someone spray-painted a car parked in the 600 block of South Dickenson Avenue.

These incidents come in the wake of other reports of graffiti reported recently in Sterling and Ashburn, according to the sheriff’s office.
