• Bristol District Weekly Traffic Alert: June 29 - July 5, 2026 (virginia.gov) — Drivers in Bland County should prepare for nighttime tunnel maintenance on I-77 at the East River Mountain Tunnel and several bridge and pothole projects that could slow traffic. Route 608 (Skydusky Road) is also closed for a bridge superstructure replacement through August 2026, with signs and message boards guiding detours. Regional interstate and primary road work across nearby counties may further affect longer trips.
