Mr. & Mrs. Peter Maravas are pleased to announce the engagement of their youngest son, Michael James (Mike) Maravas to Heather Marie Cowan of Chantilly. Heather is the daughter of Jennie Cowan-Jones and Dave Jones of Clifton, VA and William Cowan of Sterling, VA.
Mike is a 2004 graduate of Westfield High School. After studying at Radford University, Mike has been employed as a HVAC Tech II and acting supervisor with Fairfax County Facilities Management since April, 2006. The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Chantilly High School and is currently a student at NVCC studying early childhood education. She is also employed part-time at Bonefish Grill in Fairfax as well as being a full-time mother to her daughter, Chloe Marie Cowan.
The couple met at Centreville Baptist Church's youth group as teens and shared mutual friends at both Westfield and Chantilly High School. After many long conversations and adventures over the past 3 years, the groom proposed after church on Easter Sunday, April 24, then shared the blessed news with family during Easter dinner at home.

The couple's wedding will take place on Saturday, October 8, 2011, on the beach of the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. The couple plan to honeymoon in St. Thomas and will be residing in Chantilly, VA.
