Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament – The seventh Annual Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, June 7, at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton. The format of the tournament will be a four-player scramble and will be flighted based on team handicaps to recognize both low gross and net. The tournament will feature numerous challenges and prizes, including both $10,000 hole-in-one and $2500 putting contests.

Boys Lacrosse—The Centreville High School voys varsity lacrosse team lost 16 – 11 to the Oakton Cougars in a tough Concorde District game at Oakton High School.

The Wildcats are currently playing without their star goalie, sophomore Pat Prosser, who suffered a season ending injury in CVHS’s game against Herndon High School last week. Defender Antonio Choi, stepped up as the Wildcat’s Goalie, despite not having played in goal since 7th grade. He was assisted by Senior Defenders Zach Fenstermacher and Stephen Pugh, who played tough throughout the game.
The Wildcats' leading scorer in the Oakton game was Nathan Marks, with three goals to his credit. Also scoring for Centreville were Zack Sikora, Shane Kehl and Austin Erickson with two goals each, and Sam Marks and Andy Balberde with one goal each. Midfielders Zack Sikora and Andy Balberde led the Wildcats with three assists each, and Austin Erickson had one assist. The Wildcats' record now stands at five wins and two losses.
Girls lacrosse—Facing off against their first District opponent, the Centreville girls lacrosse team was defeated 16-10 by the Oakton Cougars. In the first half, Oakton’s offense came on strong right from the start and continued to push forward to a 10 point lead.
Sophomore goalie Taylor Marrow was able to hold off half of Oakton’s shots on goal with an impressive 16 saves. Defenders Mackenzie Johnson and Erin Meador slowed the Oakton offense at times, each recording an interception.
In the second half, the Wildcat offense pushed back scoring consecutively and reduced the margin to finish at 16-10. Scoring two goals each for Centreville were Hayley Anderson, Maggie Dulkerian, Erin Sanders and Carly Sane (who also recorded an assist). Jessie Dagata and Flo Duong scored one goal each. The Lady Wildcats' scheduled game against Robinson on Friday, April 8th was postponed due to rain.
Girls soccer—The Lady Wildcats dominated Marshall High School Tuesday evening, April 5, with an 8-0 win. Wildcat goals were scored by Jenna Green, Katie Blumer, Katie O'Donnell, Linsay Egbers, Haley Yow, Clara Logsdon and Alex Myers (two). Assists were attributed to Baylee Gillmore, Clara Logston, Alex Myers, Lindsay Egbers and Haley Yow (two).
The Lady Wildcats remained undefeated after beating Herndon 3 - 1 on Thursday, April 7. The game was tied at 1 -1 at the end of the second half with a goal scored by Lindsay Egbers off of a corner. The team came back strong in the second half with goals from Alex Myers and Mari Marotta. The goals were assisted by Haley Yow and Alex Myers (two). Keeper Taylor Avery made numerous saves during the game.
The Wildcats now move to 8 - 0 for the season and 3 - 0 in the District.
Girls Tennis—The Lady Wildcats beat Westfield HS 5-4 on Tuesday, April 5, despite not having their #1 and #2 singles players.

#5 singles Shauna Kistner won 10-7, beating Jenny Chau
#6 singles Astrid Unson won 10-6, beating Jessica Hoang
On the doubles side:
#2 doubles Park/Nguyen won 10-0, handily beating Sun/Ererhart.
#3 doubles Unson/Kistner won 10-2, beating the team of Chau/Cat Doe.
On Thursday, April 7th, the Lady Wildcats hit the courts again, beating Herndon at Herndon, 7-2, with a lineup that did not include their top three singles players.
On singles:
#2 singles—substitute Ali Dyer (#7 on the singles ladder) did a great job pulling a win 10-8.
#3 singles—our sub, Jamie Schoshinski (#8 on the singles ladder) won 10-6.
#4 singles—Sarah Nguyen, won 10-1.
#5 singles—Shauna Kistner won 10-2
#6 singles—Astrid Unson won 10-2
On doubles:
#2 doubles—Shauna Kistner/Astrid Unson won 8-0
#3 doubles—Ali Dyer/Jamie Schoshinski won 8-0
The Lady Wildcats tennis team is now 4-2 for the season.
Boys tennis—First-year Coach Chauncey Street reports that the team is playing its matches very well against experienced teams and there are great improvements.
Winning their matches last week were:
Singles #6. Brian Su Vs Diego Iterrera 10 - 5
Doubles #2. Preveen Ramanraju / Monan Shah Vs #4 and Colin Curtis 10 - 10 (7 - 5).
Baseball—The Centreville baseball team lost its Concorde District opener on Wednesday night, April 6th, dropping a 5-1 decision at Westfield.
Both teams were limited to four hits, but the Wildcats (1-5 overall, 0-1 district) were done in by two costly errors that led to four runs by the Bulldogs, who remained undefeated on the season.
Centreville starter Mitch Mahoney went four innings before giving way to senior RHP Chance Roman, who threw two scoreless innings of relief. Mahoney, who carries a 2.93 earned run average, fell to 0-3 and has received just one run of support in his three starts this season.
Junior RF Chris Simpson had two of the Wildcats’ hits and drove in their lone run in the sixth inning. Senior 3B Mark McCormick and junior 2B Mark Behne had the team’s other two hits.
Centreville also won Saturday evening, April 9th, against Herndon in .
