CVHS Wrestlers Take Wins Over Herndon

Wrestling: The beat the Herndon Hornets in a  Concorde Districtd dual meet on Wednesday, Jan. 25th.

The Hornets took the matches in the 126- and 132-lb weight classes against Jerry Cowman and Connor Mitchell, respectively. The Wildcats took the next five matches, running the score to 27-6. Josh Cowman picked up a decision, as did Dillon Dull. At 152 pounds, Will Fulton decisioned Bassamm Estwani, giving the Wildcats their first lead of the night. Tyler Love defeated Steven Milazzo at 160 pounds, and Ryan Sepulveda took a forfeit at 170 pounds. The last win of the night for Herndon came at 182 pounds where Nick Lomidize beat Connor Howell with a close decision.

After that, it was all Wildcats as they took the next six matches. Senior David Chenevey, Jason Park, Joey Steinbach, Chung Do Kim, Michael Vu and Joey Nowak were the victors in these, running the final score to 57-9.

Girls basketball: The Lady Wildcats displayed their finest defensive effort of the year as they defeated the 38-28 on Tuesday night, January 24th. CVHS was led by Senior Chaney Forbush as she recorded her eighth double/double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds. 

The CVHS Lady Wilcats lost a hard fought game 52-37 to Robinson on Friday night, Jan. 27th. Chaney Forbush led the Cats with 14 ponts and 15 rebounds, her ninth double/double of the year. Centreville falls to 10-7 and 2-4 in the Concorde District. The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to play at home on Tuesday night, January 31st.

Gymnastics: Congratulations to Adrian Hurdle and Ariella Nelson for qualifying for the regional gymnastics meet. Adrian placed eighth on floor and Ariella placed sixth on vault in the Concorde District meet on Monday.
