• FCPS starts new school year with full cellphone ban, fewer crossing guards and other changes (ffxnow.com) — Centreville families will see big changes as FCPS starts the new year, including a full cellphone ban during the school day and the loss of police crossing guards at Centreville High School. New rules also tighten use of personal devices, expand weapons screening and bag limits at football games, and broaden access to free virtual mental health services for students.
