Sobriety Checkpoints This St. Patrick's Day Weekend

Police will be on the lookout this weekend for offenders, with two checkpoints announced so far in Fairfax County.

It’s easy to find a party for the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, but Fairfax County Police don’t want you to find trouble.

Officers will be on the lookout for drivers under the influence across the county. They’ve announced two specific sobriety checkpoints:

Almost half the men killed in crashes on St. Patrick’s Day died in drunk-driving crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“Violators often face jail time, the loss of their driver’s license, higher insurance rates, expensive attorney’s fees, unpaid time away from work, and dozens of other expenses,” according Prince William County Police.

PWCPD has also announced a increased sobriety enforcement from Saturday through Tuesday, March 17.
