Strong Showing for Wildcats in Golf Invitational

Janice Kim takes women's title.

The Centreville High School Wildcats golf team finished in an impressive third place in the 6th annual SERVPRO Invitational High School Golf Tournament, which took place this year on August 10th-11th at Twin Lakes Golf Club in Clifton. 

After one round of play, the Wildcats were one shot out of 3rd place, alone in 4th place with a score of 317. Leading the team were juniors Chris Song & Shaan Kololgi, who both fired a 5-over par 76. Senior Janice Kim was next on the scoreboard with an 80, followed by senior Brett Green with a 85. Freshman Jae Jun, playing in her first high school event, carded an 89.  

After the final round was complete on the 11th, the team sat alone in 3rd place, bettering their round 1 score by 16 strokes, for a final tally of 618. For an added measure of victory, Janice Kim won the individual girls' title with a 36-hole score of 155 (80-75), posting a five-stroke improvement over her Round 1 score. Chris Song led the team with a 36-hole score of 148 (+5), which was good for 7th place in the boys' flight. Shaan Kololgi finished alone in 10th place after posting a final round 75 (+3) for a 36-hole score of 151 (+8). Brett Green & junior Marria Cho both posted a 79 for the 4th & final score of the day.

SERVPRO of Loudoun County sponsored this annual event, which hosts area high school golf teams from City of Alexandria, City of Manassas, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Prince William County, and Stafford County. Over 120 area high school golfers participated this year.
