SYA East Season Comes to a Close at State Championship

Reston National defeated SYA East All-Stars in the Virginia Little League State Championship game Thursday night at Freedom Park in Leesburg.

SYA East scored three runs in the first and then had back-to-back homers off starter Brendan Grammes to take a 5-1 lead in the second. Left fielder Steven Kirk and center fielder Tyler Gambone led off the second with a home run each.

However, a two-run homer and a grand slam from Reston pitcher Brian Lawson helped move National to the lead.
