Undefeated Centreville Continues Victory March

Herndon keeps it close until second-half Wildcat scoring spree.

The red-hot Wildcats are now 4-0 this season after a 41-14 win Friday night over the varsity football team.

Hornet running back Josh Schow turned in another outstanding performance with 111 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries—but it was not enough. The Wildcats got on the board early to take a 7-0 lead into the second quarter. But Hornet quarterback Ky Parrott drilled a five-yard pass to Denzel Weaver to knot it up in the second. Centreville’s leading rusher Manny Smith (120 yards rushing) plowed his way through for three-straight touchdowns (70, 5, 1) in the second quarter and stretched the Wildcat lead to 27-7, before the half.

A Mitch Ferrick touchdown pass gave Centreville a 34-7 lead in the fourth quarter, when Schow bolted his way to pay dirt on a 58-yard sprint for the Hornets to cut into the Wildcat lead, 34-14. However, that is as close as Herndon would get as Centreville’s Christian Martey followed Schow’s run with a 56-yarder to close out the game at, 41-14.
