Wildcats Freshmen Football Team Undefeated, New Concorde District Champs

CVHS weekly sports review

Congratulations to 's 2011 freshmen football team, for finishing their season undefeated and becoming Concorde District champions! Through their victory over the  on Thursday, Oct. 27th, the cumulative score for the freshman team vs. their opponents was 263-40. 

The varsity volleyball team lost to 3-1 in the semi-final round of the Concorde District Tournament. The team next plays in opening round of the Northern Region Tournament.

1st Team: Haley Santymire 2nd Team: Janine Simmons Honorable Mention: Yasemin Ataley and Grace Simmons

Cross Country—At the Northern Region Cross Country Championship Meet, junior Chan Young Lee placed 23rd out of 126 runners on the boys' side. On the girls' side freshman Jackie O'Shea placed 22nd out of 117 runners, and was the second fastest freshman in the Northern Region.

Qualifying for the Virginia AAA State Meet was junior Rebecca Vinter, who finished the 3-mile race in 18 minutes 2 seconds, a personal best by 26 seconds. Rebecca placed 11th overall and is the first female from CVHS to make it to the Virginia State XC meet since the 2006 season. The team finished 11th overall at the meet.  Congratulations to Rebecca, Chan Young and Jackie, and the entire CVHS XC Team!

Cheerleading—Congratulations to the team for in the 2011 Northern Region Cheerleading Tournament Finals, which took place on Thursday, November 6th at . 

Varsity Football—The Centreville Wildcats, led by second-year head coach Chris Haddock,. The away-game victory locks up the No. 2 seed in the Northern Region Division 6 playoffs, resulting in home field advantage for Wildcats for two rounds. Recent reports speculate that the Wildcats will play in the first round and, looking ahead, will re-meet in the second round.
